The Challenge is on!

All archers and equestrians from across the Kingdom and beyond are invited to Unser Hafen’s Coursers and Quivers event. Come challenge and compete against the leading Unser Hafen riders and archers. Show off your own Barony or Canton in this selective event designed to showcase the best and the fastest of our Kingdom’s forces.

Archery Competition coordinated by Lord Garin de Gent. Check-in from 9-10 a.m. Shoots will be run from 10 a.m. to noon to select the Champion, everyone including those from out of barony are welcome to participate in the shoots, even if not shooting for Champion. The range will reopen at 1 p.m. with additional shoots run after lunch.

Equestrian Competition coordinated by Ceciela O’Conner. Horses may arrive beginning at 9:00 a.m. Practice on the equipment from 10 a.m. – Noon. Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. and will include quintain, rings, heads, and other games. Day stalls available for $5. Equestrians should e-mail kimberone1@juno.com if planning on attending with name of rider, name of horse, horse’s owner, authorization status, and whether a day stall is requested. Lesson horses may be available to lease for the event for those who make private arrangements in advance, by contacting manager@sunponyranch.com as soon as possible. Lessons and/or pre-rides will be required.

Donation lunch to be provided by Smiling Bull Tavern. Site is discreetly wet. Bring your chairs and shade coverings. Spectator area for the equestrian ring is about 100 feet above the ring on a grassy knoll with small trees. It is away from the dust and with clear view of the competition. Come cheer on your favorite!

Directions from Loveland: Take Hwy 287 South to Berthoud. Continue on the old 287 road into Berthoud (first Berthoud exit, 1 mile south of Highway 60) Take Hwy 56 east, towards I-25, for 1 mile out of town Turn right on CR 1. Proceed south for 3 miles, the ranch will be on your left.

Directions from the North from I-25: Take I-25 to Hwy 56, Berthoud exit, Go West on Hwy 56. Turn left on County Road 1. Proceed south for 3 miles, the ranch will be on your left.

Directions from Denver: Take I-25 north to Hwy 66 (Exit 243). Exit and turn left on Hwy 66 and proceed west for 4 miles. Turn right on East County Line Road. Proceed north for 4.2 miles, the ranch will be on your right.
